Lg. Lemon Bay Rum Spice Tree (pimenta racemosa)

$65.99

Lemon Bay Rum Spice Tree, Pimenta racemosa – RARE, is an intensely aromatic tropical tree prized for its bright lemon fragrance. The super-scented leaves are rich in essential oils and can be used in cooking, brewed into teas, or distilled for use in colognes and perfumes. When brushed or crushed, the foliage releases a refreshing citrus aroma that seems to rise from every part of the tree.
This beautiful, fairly straight-growing tree typically matures to 20 to 25 feet tall, making it an excellent choice for smaller landscapes and urban settings. Its clean form and fragrant foliage give it both ornamental and practical value. Fragrant white flowers appear in soft, fluffy clusters and gradually give way to small, inedible berry-like fruits. Sometimes referred to as Lemon Bayberry, this selection is especially well suited for patios or specialty collections in warm climates.
Thriving in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil, Lemon Bay Rum performs best in USDA Zones 10 to 11.
