Lg. Hispaniola Palmetto Palm Tree (sabal domingensis)

$52.64

Hispaniola Palmetto Palm, Sabal domingensis, is a powerful, large-scale palm often considered the bigger, bolder relative of the common Palmetto. It develops a robust, stocky trunk that can reach up to 2 feet in diameter and soar as high as 60 feet, making it an impressive vertical element in expansive landscapes.
The canopy is equally dramatic, spreading 20 to 25 feet across and composed of long-stemmed fronds that can reach about 6 feet in length, each supporting 4-foot-long leaves. The segmented leaves split halfway down, with tips divided in two, creating a softer, gracefully draping look despite the palm’s substantial size.
Once established, Hispaniola Palmetto can grow at a steady pace of roughly one foot per year. Thriving in full sun with well-drained soil, it performs best in USDA Zones 9B to 11, offering bold structure, scale, and enduring tropical character for large properties and estates.
