Kona Coffee Bush (coffea arabica)

$17.99

Kona Coffee Bush (Coffea arabica) is the classic species responsible for most of the world’s premium coffee. Native to Ethiopia and now representing nearly 90 percent of global coffee production, Arabica thrives in humid tropical climates where rainfall is regular and a short dry period encourages flowering and pollination.
This glossy-leaved evergreen shrub can reach approximately 15 feet at maturity. It produces clusters of white, highly fragrant flowers that typically open within a short window of one to two weeks, creating a striking and aromatic display. The fruit, often called coffee cherries, begins green and gradually ripens to deep crimson red when ready for harvest.
Inside each ripe fruit are the seeds that become coffee beans. Once extracted, roasted, and ground, they produce one of the world’s most widely consumed beverages. With bright light, consistent moisture, and well-draining soil, Coffea arabica can also be grown successfully in containers, offering both ornamental appeal and the potential for home-harvested coffee. USDA Zones 10–12
